Arthritis is one of the most common health condition that involves chronic inflammation of joints. Although human joints become weaker as the age grows. But sometimes at young age people face this health condition.
Meanwhile, science claims rheumatoid arthritis as an autoimmune disease. So people who face arthritis issues should avoid consuming certain foods and drinks.
• Gluten foods.
Gluten, basically is a variety of protein that is found in wheat, barley, Rye and certain grains. People may face increased inflammation around joints because of gluten. Especially people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance are at greater risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.
• Highly processed foods.
Ultra processing of food items just kill all the nutrients inside them. Most of the fast foods, breakfast cereals, baked goods are typically high in unhealthy fats and carbohydrates. They are just refined grains, added sugars, with some preservatives to increase natural self life. People who are facing rheumatoid arthritis and eat high amounts of ultra processed foods may develop inflammation in other parts of the body too.
• Alcohol.
Alcohol may severe the symptoms of arthritis and can create heavy inflammation around joints. Heavy alcohol intake increases final structural damage. This is structural damage of spinal cord is the primary effect of inflammation due to arthritis.
• High sodium foods.
Cutting back on salt and high sodium foods is a good choice for people who are facing arthritis issues. Low sodium intake decrease the condition of rheumatoid arthritis as compared to high salt diet.
Moreover high salt diet can increase the cartilage breakdown and bone destruction in people with arthritis.
• Processed and red meat.
Red meat, especially those which are processed, can increase inflammation around joints and increase the arthritis symptoms. There are certain chemical compounds that are present especially in red meat that demonstrate high levels of inflammatory processes. Several people who are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis experience severe symptoms after consuming red meat.
