Resistant starch, everything one needs to know about its !

It’s a well known fact that most of the carbohydrates present in diets are starches. Basically, starches are the long chains of glucose that are found in grains, potatoes, and several other foods. But the fact is, not all the starches you eat gets digested. Sometimes a small portion of it passes through your digestive tract unchanged and undigested. Just keeping this process in scientific and medical terms, it is resistant to digestion. This variety of starch is only called resistant starch. • Types of resistant starch. It should be clear that not all resistant starches are the same. Basically, resistant starch is classified in four more categories. 1. Type 1. Mostly it is found in grains, seeds and leguminous varieties. This starch is resistant to digestion because it is bound with some fibrous cell walls. 2. Type 2.
