Amount of water one should consume each day, know the experts advice !

Human body is made up 60% of the water. Our body constantly loses water throughout the day during different lifestyle and professional processes. Thus, to prevent this dehydration. One needs to get plenty of water from drinks and food everyday.

Doctors and health experts claim that commonly it is recommended to take 2 litres or half gallon of water each day. Some other people also believe that one need to sip water constantly throughout the day. Even if he or she not feeling thirsty.

But the fact is, water requirements may vary from person to person. Several other factors determine the quantity of water an individual requires.

• Check out the amount of water you require.

The requirement of water one needs depends upon lots of things and varies from person to person as mentioned above.

But the general recommendation for adult men is about 3.7 litres and for adult women is about 2.7 litres. Although we also consume water through different beverages and fluids such as juices, teas, milk etc.

Majorly the requirement of water depends upon the below mentioned factors.

1. Place where you live.

It is important to note down that you will need more water if you live in hot, humid or dry areas. Addition to these people living in mountains or high altitudes also require more amount of water.

2. Dietary patterns.

If one takes a lot of caffeine through caffeinated beverages or coffee. Then there are chances of losing water through extra urination. These type of peoples need to require more amount of water. Addition to this people who intake salty, spicy, and sugary foods require more water. In comparison to people who take lot of hydrated foods like fresh and cooked fruits and vegetables.

3. Depends upon how active one is.

If you are a person who regularly exercises and go for a walk. Or just your profession requires more amount of active work. You will surely require high amounts of water as compared to people who just have chair jobs.

4. May also depend on health issues.

If one have any previous infection or fever. Or just loses fluids through vomiting, diarrhoea, or any other medical condition. Then it is advisable to take more amounts of water. Several medications that are used for certain health issues also dehydrates the body.

5. During pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If a female is pregnant or nursing her baby then she will surely require more amount of water to stay hydrated. The proper consumption of water is very essential for producing enough of milk.

Although there are some standards made for amount of water one should intake. But these standards are made as an average. One may require more or less amount of water as mentioned in standards. So fast, just look up on your health issues, environment, lifestyle before seeing these standards.
