5 cool down exercises that will help you to get most from your workout.

Still several people ignore cool down exercises at the end of workout sessions. Seems like they are not aware that cool down exercises and stretches lower the chance of injury and promote blood flow. After intense workout session they will help in reducing stress to your heart and other muscles.

Dedicating 10 minutes after a long, intense workout to cooling down exercises will surely help you to get most from your workout.

So here we are presenting most common and beneficial cool down exercises and stretches.

1. Light jogging or walking.

This is the most common and straight forward way to cool down your body after a workout session. Just give three to five minutes to light jogging on a treadmill. If you are not in a condition to jog just walk normally.

2. Upper body stretch.

Stretching your upper body after workout session will help you to relax your muscles. There are several ways to stretch upper body.

During a standing or seated position, just interlock your fingers and press your palms upward. Or just draw your hands up an back as far as you can while maintaining a straight backbone.

3. Knee to chest crunches.

This cool down exercise will help you to construct a strong abdomen as well as cooling down your body.

• Just lie on your back with your left leg bent.

• Now slowly draw your right knee towards your chest.

• Repeat it with another leg.

• Hold for the position at least for one minute and perform slowly.

4. Bending forward.

It’s the most common pre workout warm up and post workout cool down exercise. One just have to stand straight. Keep your knees straight as much as you can and bend your body forward from lower back. Just try to touch the ground without bending your knees.

5. Shaking body.

During this cool down exercise, gently shake your right arm, then your left arm and then both the arms together. Similarly, go for right leg, then left leg. Shake your head, hips and whole body at least for 15 seconds.

Although there are several other types of cool down exercises. But here we have mentioned those exercises which almost every one can perform from a child to older ones.
